There are plenty of aruments for both cases - neither is right and neither is wrong. It all comes down to personal choice.

I am sure you will find plenty of discussion on this subject in other topics

On a Saver fare I assume I will just get what dining arrangement  I am allocated by P&O.

I prefer freedom dining, if I am allocated a fixed dining time, can I ask for it to be changed ?

When do they allocate saver people their dining arrangements. We are a party of 5 all booked on saver fares but at different times. How do we all get to sit together. Is it just a case of going to see the Maitre D on the first night.

You can ask and it will depend on how full your preferred dining option is as to whether it can/will be changed.

If you are on Club (fixed) dining then you need to link the bookings, if you are on Freedon dining then you select your party size when you join the queue

Thank you. We have linked our cruises and want to do second fixed sitting so hopefully we can arrange that without too much bother.

If the need to dine together is that important,  why did you all book a Saver Fare and not Select?

To save money. I didn't realise at the time that we couldn't pick our preferred dining slot. We have always been able to do it with other cruise lines.
