Platinum members and offers/comps

Hey there, I'm going to try not to make this sound like a rant, I'm genuinely  interested and concerned. 

 

So I been on I think 5 cruises this year...  I'm not a high roller gambler in the casino, I tend to maybe spend 100 in the course of an entire cruise, but I'd always regularly get casino offers/rates regardless... 

 

So the first few cruises at the beginning of this year and end of last year, I'd email the casino and they would offer me drinks on us...

 

I recently turned platinum  about 3 cruises a go, and I've noticed I don't get casino offers anymore,  and the casino basically  tells me I don't qualify for any comps....this past cruise I even accumulated a few hundred points.  Way more than a typically accumulate, and I still basically get told sorry you don't qualify.   This never happened to me before....

 

I'm just curious if this is a thing.  Do platinum guests not get as good deals or is it just a coincidence?  Maybe carnival is tightening  up their purse strings due to low stock price?

Maybe they were giving you the offers before to get bodies on the ship and now that capacities areup they don’t need to add too many bodies to fill the ship. Just a guess

Agree.  They were handing out offers to many people late last year.  Typically/traditionally you have to earn way more than 100-200pounts to earn good offers.  It takes 1500 just to earn DOU during a cruise.  You probably need 8000+ points to earn discounted/free rooms with DOU.

And platinum status has nothing to do with offers.  It’s all based on play.

I am platinum and still get good offers.  But my points are always in the thousands, even on short cruises.

Your post says you had a cpl hundred points, is that correct?  If so, that's not even close to getting any sort of casino offer now.  To be honest, I'm surprised it got you anything in the past.

Don't feel like your the only platinum that don't get offers. We are platinum and have never received an offer.
