Paying Down (not entire) Balance

Recommended Posts

When you reduce a balance, does it show as additional deposit or ???

What happens to those funds if you have to cancel or transfer a reservation?

A deposit is a fixed amount paid to secure the booking. After the deposit has been paid, any additional funds applied to the booking before final payment is due will be applied towards the final payment total. As far as cancellation or transfers are concerned, it depends on the terms and conditions that were in place at the time of booking.

Can't figure out why you would want to.  RCL is already collecting interest on your deposit, do you really have so much green that you want to give them more interest rather than have it working for you?

Usually any payments applied above the deposit amount per person would be refunded if you cancel before final payment due date.  The deposit amount is subject to the cancellation terms and conditions.

For sailings booked after March 31, 2022:

Non-Refundable Deposit Fares

Outside of final payment, when a non-refundable deposit cancellation occurs, the full deposit amount will be held in penalty. Any additional payments made will be refunded.

Should you choose to change your original ship and/or sail date, if you booked directly with us, please contact our Consumer Outreach team where a representative will assist in making the desired changes, while also applying the qualifying change fee(s) and collecting payment, if not already done so.  If you booked via a travel advisor, please contact them for any booking changes.

The $$$ is a gift from a friend who wants to put it on his VISA card without doing a cash advance.....

Otherwise, I keep my $$$ to the very last minute
