Thanksgiving cruise

We are taking a 3 nt free cruise from casino royale, but there are limited dates from only October to December. Because of our schedules the only dates that might work is the day after Thanksgiving. Are Thanksgiving cruises extremely crowded? This would be the first time we did a cruise on a holiday, is this a bad idea?

I doubt a 3 day cruise is going to be any more crowded during Thanksgiving weekend than it would be on a normal weekend.
 

My guess is that families are either taking the whole week vacation on the cruise, or they're taking the whole week at home (or at their family member's home).  I don't know how likely it would be for a family to pack their kids up for 2 separate vacations during that week (one to do thanksgiving and the other to take a cruise at the end of the week). It seems like too much work and expense for the average family. 
 

Plus those 3 day cruises tend to be more booze-cruise-y and I don't see that changing just because it's Thanksgiving week. From what I hear, the 3 day cruises are usually pretty packed and rowdy, no matter when you take them. But I doubt it will be filled with more families and less partiers that particular weekend. I think I'd prefer it full of kids than weekend binge drinkers. Don't go 😂

We love cruising right after thanksgiving we do it almost every year , normally not to many children and we can get a good price. Flying on thanksgiving day. Or day after is nice since airports are not that busy.

We have cruised multiple times the week of Thanksgiving.  Usually out of Puerto Rico.  We love it.  It's a way to not have to worry about family conflicts.  We would leave Friday before Thanksgiving and get back Sunday after Thanksgiving.  You do have to be ready to book flights and cruises the day they become available and hours matter on costs but it's worth the trouble.

The three night cruise, Friday to Sunday, immediately after Thanksgiving, is going to be fully booked and chock full of kids.  EVERYONE is off.  Good luck.  😄

Worst cruise we ever had was a four-day including the Thanksgiving holiday. I'm not sure if the parents or the hundreds of kids were the more obnoxious group, but we will never do a holiday cruise again.

Doing my first Thanksgiving cruise this year on Grandeur.  I'd expect a load of kids and to be fully booked.  I'm more worried about serving sliced whole turkey instead of turkey roll 😬 🍗🦃 🤣

I'm doing a Thanksgiving cruise too, but the OP isn't really doing a Thanksgiving cruise, they wanna do a 3 day booze cruise the weekend at the end of Thanksgiving week. 
 

I agree, I'd much rather a ship be full of kids than do a booze cruise. If their 3 day was gonna turn into more of a family cruise packed with kids than a booze cruise then I'd go ahead and do it (it's free), but otherwise I wouldn't go.
