Anyone else now Covid positive after this cruise? To the OP please feel free to ask to have this moved/deleted, but I’ve now heard of 11 people, including myself to are now testing positive. I was negative before leaving my cabin at 7:30am Friday. 12 hours later I started sneezing and this morning I’m positive. I guess there is a group on the other not to be named social site, FB, where this is being discussed. I’m thinking Skagway where we were mixed with folks from 2 other cruise ships on excursions. On our excursion of 18 people only 2 other people wore masks. We wore masks on board, ate in the MDR, spent time in the casino, forward lounge, and Effy drawing.

Our party of 6 cruised the week of August 12th. None of us had any symptoms on the cruise. We flew home Friday the 19th. One of our party had a sore throat the next day. We all tested but she tested positive. The next day another tested positive. The remaining 4 of us were fine and were negative. The health department told my daughter she likely was exposed on the 17th-18th. We occasionally masked as necessary and did take the Skagway train and Shuttle bus. But who knows. Both of our travelers recovered. Three of our party went for our 4th boosters 3 weeks before cruising and were all negative. Except for dining we didn’t attend any large gatherings on the ship.

seems to be happening a lot.  That said, it also seems to be happening a lot to my friends who weren't on cruises as well.

Hi everyone,

For those who have cruised several time to Alaska, which is the best month ( weather wise) to go?  Thanks!

We have cruised 8 times and have tried all of the months. This year we went mid August and didn’t experience any heavy rain. Some drizzle. Last year mid September we had a sunny day in Ketchikan, but pretty rough seas on the Serenade. May was very cold, windy and rainy and the ship had to cancel going into glacier areas because of too much ice. Mid to end of June was rainy but we tended to see more whales. We tried the last week of July and it rained pretty heavy that week. My opinion is the best weeks are mid June to early September. If you are doing land and sea some Alaskan residents recommended to me that August was the best weather.

We have been to Alaska five times. Our last four have been mid to late June. This is the only time this year that we have had clouds and drizzle although it cleared for Ketchikan and Skagway. That however did not keep our grandson out of the outdoor pool after walking around town!  Our seas were good. What we also like are the long days when it’s light for viewing.  For us we missed too much in later August because it got dark so much earlier. Our weather was not as good as well.
