We are sailing on the Scarlet Lady coming up in a couple weeks. Anyway time slipped by and I forgot to make dinner reservations. Well now most everything is booked. Do they open more reservations like on boarding day? I am in a Mega Rockstar room can maybe the agent help also?

You can either call VV shoreside and they will make the reservations for you now, or you will be meeting with your rockstar host in the Manor right after boarding and that person will make them all for you at that time.  The ships are sailing less than half full at this point (rare exceptions) and there are tons of reservations left.  They just aren't on the app.

If you change your mind while on board, you can either ask your  rockstar agent to change it for you or do a walk up.  Very easy.

How did you like the Cruise? How was the unlimited drinks? You can order most anything correct?

There is a price limit on what you can order.  Anything that costs over the limit is on your stateroom account--the whole cost of the item, not just the portion that was over the limit.  So, "most anything" is correct.  Not many of us order $900 bottles of champagne, but they are available to anyone who wants to pay for them.

We liked the cruise overall. That being said I think expectations were so high going in that I don’t think they could be met. My wife is 36 and I am 41 and we like to have a good time and are pretty open minded. The entertainment was great at times and ok at times. We loved the Diva. Definitely see duel reality. Scarlet Night was a bit of a disappointment with us, as we wanted to be interactive and be “invited” to a private show and weren’t. I interacted with the staff that night and at one point one of the staff members purposely went around us to invite some other people and the lied to me when I tried to see what was going on so it made us feel like we weren’t wanted. The live music was hit or miss I would like to have seen something like a cover band available. For the most part the food was very good. I would say I thought the appetizers and small/medium plates were better than the entrees at most restaurants. All the drinks were of high quality. As a mega you can virtually get any cocktail, coffee or shake at no cost. Your rockstar agent will supply your bar with anything you want, but to be honest we didn’t use it because it was just as easy to go get a drink made. As a mega your location is great. We were out past 12 most nights so noise wasn’t an issue at all. We barely used Richards Rooftop, once again you get free drinks everywhere so didn’t utilize the daily champagne there and your balcony is a nice place to relax if you want to get away from people. Our sailing I believe was under 1100 passengers so nothing was ever crowded. My wife did go to layout and her biggest complaint was the size of the pool, its too small. I mean max capacity on their sign is 19 people for it so they are going to have issues when the sailings get more full. During embarkation they started to let us board at 1:45, so don’t get there too early or you are just sitting with basically water to drink. When you get on you can go to the manor for champagne but I would skip and go straight to you room as your mega rockstar agent will be waiting for you. I believe the manor is more for the rockstars to meet the rockstar agents that will be taking care of them collectively.

drinks up to $25 are included, unlimited.  i don't think there are any cocktails that come close to that limit, but higher end spirits and wines certainly surpass that limit.

some bars are set up to give half pours for half the price of a standard pour - i think it's the casino bar and one other - but i don't think all the bars' POS systems are set up with those buttons.

you can upgrade your standard cocktail with better liquor, but the bartenders will be able to tell you what it costs before they put the drink in.

for wines, you get 2 bottles per cabin up to $90/bottle each day.  you can get these at meals, bars or grab them from bars or restaurants to-go.  if you like champagne, moet is $95/bottle (so not included), but $21 per glass (included - go figure!).

i think you actually get a 20 or 25% discount on things above your limits - sometimes a drink or bottle of wine would end up on our tab and it showed a discounted amount.  your roadie will make sure accounting zero's out drinks on your bill before debarkation, so don't panic if you see drinks pop up in your wallet.

premium coffees and teas, smoothies and fresh pressed juices are also included with mega, and you should be able to use it for the drink pairings at test kitchen (but double check on that because there seems to be some confusion there).  you can't use your mega benefits for afternoon tea at sip on sea days, the grog walk, shot for shot or any of the other chargeable events that include alcohol.

there were a little loosey goosey at first and let megas basically buy rounds for others for free, but now they limit the number of drinks you can get at once to the number of registered guests in your suite - so most of the time 2 drinks at a time.  there's no time minimum between drink rounds though.

Hello - sorry about the private show debacle. Can you offer any advice/tips to try and get invited or is it sheer luck? What exactly is the "private show?" My wife and I are sailing Scarlet in November for first time and like to party and have fun so probably in line with you and your wife. Thanks for any tips.

it really is luck of the draw and capacity constrained.  we've been invited twice - the first, one of the happenings cast members tapped me on the shoulder and asked if i was doing anything.  i said nope and they led me to the meeting point.

the other time, we were talking to a happenings cast member and they told us to meet at a specific point at a specific time.  it seems like each cast member has a limited amount of slots, and it's up to them how they give them out. that said, your chances are probably higher if you interact with the happenings cast a bunch (and in a meaningful way by hanging out and chatting with them throughout the voyage, not just "hey can i come to your secret party?").

As others have noted your Rock Star Agent will be able to help with restaurant bookings and from what we heard onboard, the restaurants themselves always hold reservations from the pre-booking. That allows guests to make reservations once they are onboard. We really didn't see our Agent all that much during the cruise, we primarily had him get some different liquors for the bar as we were missing Rum and Bourbon. He also arranged to get us limes, lemons and other mixers so we could make some proper cocktails. Your bar has all the cocktail tools, but the they don't give you any mixers. We brought Simple Syrup and bitters onboard with us because I love to play mixologist. But I still needed a few things and they were able to get some supplies for us from the bartenders.

The one thing that may surprise you about all the meals is how long they take, compared to other cruise lines where the meals tend to be much shorter so they can flip the tables. The Test Kitchen for example was a 2 1/2 hour dining experience. They absolutely do not rush you at all with any of the meals on Scarlet Lady. In fact we had to tell the servers at Extra Virgin that we only had 70 minutes for our meal because we were coming from a Secret Show and headed to Duel Reality after dinner. So instead of a four course meal, they turned it into a three course meal serving the pasta and entree together. That was awesome and I highly recommend the affogato coffee dessert. But all the dinners onboard are a relaxed dining experience. It's quite lovely, but something to be aware of if you have reservations for an after-dinner show.

As for the experience onboard, we did just post a review on our YouTube channel that focuses on what the experience is really like, not just the 'weird and crazy stuff.'  🙂 I hope this is helpful. We also have a full food review on the channel as well where we eat most everything.

Just got off today and got 3 invites to "private" events.  The first time we were given cards that told us where and when to meet. The second time was at Scarlett night and someone from the happenings team remembered us and just told us to follow them. The third time we asked about the event and were told it was basically the same as the first one so only one person in our group went. I have no idea why we were invited other than being in the right place at the right time.

A secret event happens when a member of the Happenings Cast comes up to you on board and asks you if you are interested.  THey will also warn you if there is sexual content.  Then they either escort you to a "secret" location or give you a card that tells you when and where to meet them.  It is a short performance of various sorts in a part of the ship that passengers don't normally visit.  They want to play up the "secret" aspect, so you're not allowed to film.  The best way to get invited is to get to know some of the Happenings Cast.--just talk and be friendly.
