We're on that cruise and as of right now we need a proctored COVID test within two days of embarkation.  There is no requirement for additional testing before calling on any port.

The tests are not being administered "during" the cruise, but if any of your ports, cruising from Civi/Rome, stop at a Greek Port, then you need a proctored test 2 days befor you depart; leave on a Monday, then test on a Saturday.  This is currently in place and dictated by the government of Greece.  Do the proctored antigen test, as less positive results.  Just my opinion from research.

Am on the Oct 2 cruise, and know the need to test 48 hours (antigen) or 72 hours (PCR) prior to boarding.  However, am confused about this line as well.

Mid-Cruise/Port of Call

Guests on sailings visiting any port in Greece may be subject to mid-cruise testing, pending vaccination status and itinerary.

What you posted is currently valid.  However, the wording is may not will.  I expect Celebrity would need to do the testing if necessary since there is no requirement that we bring our own test kits.

We are shortly to depart on a b-t-b;  the first part is less than 9 nights and so falls into the "no pre-boarding testing is required", and the second part is 10 nights and also calls into Greek ports.  For this part, we expect to need a supervised test.  In their frequently asked questions section there is an entry on b-t-b cruises, with the quote:

"Vaccinated guests will be permitted to sail on back-to-back cruises. Guests sailing on back-to-back cruises must show proof of vaccination and are required to take a COVID-19 test producing negative results between each sailing. Guests who are not fully vaccinated or are not eligible to be vaccinated, are not able to sail on back-to back-cruises.

For guests sailing back-to-back on any Royal Caribbean Group ship, complimentary testing will be provided onboard."

For those guest who have had COVID within 190 days, a Dr Note of recovery and proof of positive test will be accepted in place of testing?
