MDR Dining options?

 Share

Recommended Posts

Our cruise planner for our upcoming cruise shows options to reserve specialty restaurants, or MTD. Is there no such thing as early and late seating anymore, where you are seated at the same table with the same wait staff every evening? For our last two cruises, we reserved MTD for the same time every evening. But our table and section changed everyday. Some days a table for two, sometimes a shared table, and never in the same section. Every evening checking in with the hostess, we requested to be seated in the same section with the same wait staff, but were told they cannot do that. Is this the way MTD works? Is this the "new" way of MDR, or did we just have two unfortunate experiences? Based on these experiences, we want to cancel MTD for our future cruises, and go back to early seating. Is this still offered?

You can still get either late or early traditional dining.  Call Royal or your TA and if there is space they can move you to it.  You can also go to the dining room when you board and ask for a change.

We often try to organize a table, so we can all sit together.  You can do that too.

Sounds like you are wanting "Traditional Dining"  contact whomever you booked your cruise with and have them change your preferences.

You can not reliably receive the constants you desire with My Time Dining.

There are definitely set time dining options @superduper123, where you can have the same staff each night. For this ship it's 5:30 or 8:00pm, I'm in the 8pm sitting. All options should still be available, I just tried to make a "mock booking" on the RC site and both times and My Time showed available to choose. You should be able to choose a sitting by contacting your TA or Royal as discussed above.
