Removable Panels on the Verandahs?

We sail on the Westerdam on May 21! Soooo very excited. :) :) :) :)

We booked side by side SA's but were too late to get adjoining cabins (mostly because we have 7 in our party and it was a chore to find side by side cabins for 3 and 4). But our TA mentioned there might be a chance that we could request to have some panels removed so our balconies could join and we could enter the other cabin through the balcony.

Has anyone ever actually seen this done?

The panels between verandas open like a narrow door, but are usually locked except for cleaning. I see no reason why they wouldn't open them for adjoining cabins. Ask your cabin steward to have it done.

The panels on the Westerdam can be opened to create a walk through, but they cannot be removed completely. We had the panel opened on our cruise so that we "connected" to the cabin we booked for our teenage daughter. The panel was very securely locked and did not rattle or bang around at all.

Be sure you take a bungee cord or duct tape with you to keep the door open and prevent its banging around when the ship is in motion.

Great idea. There was someone who did NOT do this on our Zuiderdam cruise and it was not fun listening to the banging, especially in early morning.

We were traveling with friends, and had our panels unlocked, and it was very handy. Have a wonderful cruise.
