Best cruise line for South Pacific

Sorry to ask this question as it’s so basic but I would value your input.  Which is the best cruise line (and why) offering cruises in the South Pacific.

Also is it advisable to purchase packages (bar, wifi, speciality dining, shore excursions) pre sailing?

Thanks for your input.

Depends on what you define as "best". There is rarely a single cruise line that is "best" for everyone.

Depending on the cruise line and the things you are purchasing,  yes, it can be discounted or included in the fare if bought before you board. Or, in the case of shore excursions,  they may sell out before you board.

There is no "best" cruise line for the South Pacific (or anywhere else).  There is only the cruise line that is best for you - and without knowing more about what your priorities, budget, etc. are, no-one can give you much guidance.

I did note the OP lists Australia as their home so that may not fit my recommendation.  But we love doing Trans Pacific cruises that include multiple stops across the South Pacific.  Our favorite was on HAL's Osterdam when we did a 4 week itinerary from Seattle to Sydney.  Consider that just about all the cruise ships that do the usual Aussie/NZ itineraries will also do 2 trans Pacific's a year.  For those that have the time and love sea days, they are a great option.

I'll leap to my personal opinion of the "best" cruise line for the South Pacific: Paul Gauguin.

Explore the website, click each tab at the top of the home page, and see how their cruises immerse you in the culture and beauty of the South Pacific.

I especially like this itinerary:

And Air New Zealand has plenty of flights to/from Tahiti and Australia.
