QM2- QG Royal with no balcony

We are considering booking a QG Royal on QM2 to Canada next year.  We are used to expansive balconies (PH on Celebrity Summit for example).  Wondering if anyone can relate how they felt sailing without a balcony.  It's not an itinerary with beautiful scenery.  Thoughts?

I wouldn’t want to pay all that money and not have a balcony. And have to draw the blinds at night.

I have looked at that cabin closely and I don’t get it. The space seems very broken up and less expansive than other options. 
I would love to hear why people prefer it.

Good point about the $$$.   Forward facing and high up, so only seagulls could look in.

Very true about very broken up.  Vary odd layout.  BUT you do get QG benefits.  This definitely makes this a hard call.

It’s a navigation issue on the blinds being drawn,,,not sure if you got that or not.

Just as in the Commodore Club the blinds have to be closed at night if the lights are on, to avoid affecting the bridge.

 

Another thing is I imagine there is an awful lot of wind noise.

Why not just have a Q6, which must be miles cheaper?

I see where you are going with this.  RCCL installed "Panoramic" suites (star class) on their Oasis OTS.  The bedroom extends out over the bridge wings and has floor to ceiling windows, but no balcony.  Living room has zero windows and looks very dark.  This suite is usually available and the last to be booked.

The Princess Grill suites are very nice on the Queen Mary also.
