Sunshower, did you get any type of compensation from your cancelled cruise?

I feel like you'd most likely get something like OBC or something esp. if you called and told them why it was a huge inconvenience. Squeaky wheel gets the grease. With that said I'd say always buy insurance, esp. an insurance policy that allows you to cancel for any reason. Then you'd be good, you could make an insurance claim if Carnival cancels. I believe if one didn't buy insurance and Carnival hasn't yet set cancellation letters out then you could hurry up and purchase insurance. Letters and/or emails should be dated so if policy is purchased before letters go out I believe you'd be good.

Got an email this morning. Vista will be going into dry dock. $50 per person on board credit will be given. Max $100 per stateroom. Can rebook on comparable sailing at the rate you booked or cancel for a full refund even for Early Saver
