Port Everglades

We plan on parking at port Everglades in fort Lauderdale. We plan on dropping our luggage off and parking the car.  Once parked, we would like to walk somewhere for lunch before getting on the ship. My questions are .

1. Is there somewhere within a mile or 2 that we can walk to?

2. Are there sidewalks? Don't want to be walking on a highway

3. Are we able to walk back through port security?

Thanks in advance for you responses.

Welcome to Cruise Critic!

You can walk if you park near Terminal 2 at that parking facility. Otherwise no. The Port is a huge place, and not meant for walking.

FLL is a guarded port, you will need to show ID and boarding passes for entry.  There are several parking garages and areas, note the signs that would indicate the closest place to park for your ship.

AFAIK, there are no public eateries in the port area.  Either bring a snack or as mentioned wait to board and then eat on the ship.  Enjoy your cruise.
