OBC and Shopping

Another weird question from the new girl.

So we have 800 in OBC and since I know we're not getting that back in cash if we don't spend it, we want to spend every dime.

With just the two of us and all drinks, Wi-Fi, and gratuities already included, and not being able to tender at Cabo due to accessibility issues

A.) can we use it while shopping at the stores on board

B.) Other than specialty dining (We plan to do the French place, Tucson and Sushi on 5) how would you blow the "cash"?

On Eclipse - Mexican Rivera - Mid November.

You can definitely use it shopping on the ship , specialty restaurants, shore excursion, my personal favorite is casino chips , if you buy 50 dollars in chips you will get 55 on board. I bought 500, so I got 550, can use it for slots also.

You can spend it on anything on the ship.   Duty Free Shop, Jewelry, Casino, Spa, Specialty Dining and some have recently reported you can use it for a deposit on a future cruise.

You can not use the chips on the slots but can on the ship charge Slot to the OBC.    The Casino Chips are promotional chips and you can only cash in the winning.   Any promotional chips cashed in will go back to your OBC.     So basically you play a $25 Promotional chip if you win you get your winning back in non-promotional chips that can be cashed in.

Can you use the on board credit to pay for drinks if you do not have the all in fare?

I think virtually anything you charge to your Sea Pass will be applied to Non-Refundable OBC first and then Refundable OBC and then to your account.

Treat yourself to a massage or facial and a nice bottle of wine to go with your French dinner.
You can also get a form and provide extra gratuity to your cabin attendant and if you are in a suite extra for the butler.

Because this gets asked so often I've compiled a list of things to spend OBC on. The only thing I know of now that you CAN'T buy with OBC is a deposit on a Future Cruise. You need a credit card for that.  Also, there may be some card game in the casino with a cash only buy-in.   If they do a fundraiser, like selling t-shirts to “save the reefs” and the like, expect to need cash for that.  Otherwise, here you go:

*Acupuncture

*Airport transfers

*Alcove Rental (some ships)

*Apple products etc. and Ilounge classes

*Art Auction Purchases

*Babysitting

*Barber Shop services

*Behind the Scenes Tours

*Beverages -- Alcoholic, carbonated soft drinks, specialty coffees and teas, bottled water — if not in your package, also beverages above your package limits

*Bingo and Deal or No Deal

*Bottles of wine

*Casino

*Chef’s Table

*Corkage charged if you bring your own bottles of wine to the MDR

*Duty free liquor and cigarettes

*Extra cost entrees and other items in Main Dining Room and specialty restaurants

*Extend Your Stay program

*Fitness classes

*Flowers

*Gelato

*Gift shop souvenirs, purses, watches, cosmetics, clothing, jewelry, etc.

*Gratuities, and extra gratuities

*Guests dining with you in Luminae (applies to Suite Passengers only)

*Guest entertainers' CD's and DVD's

*Hair and nail salon

*Hollywood hot glass experiences (some ships)

*Internet if not in your package, also Internet upcharges

*Laundry/pressing/drycleaning

*Liquor Tasting events

*Luggage Valet

*Martini Flights

*Medical Center purchases

*Mini bar

*Portrait photo sessions

*Pay-per-view movies

*Persian Gardens passes

*Personal Training Sessions

*Photos & cameras

*Room service up charge items, and late night delivery fee

*Ryde spinning classes

*Shore Excursions

*Shuttle to town (some ports)

*Spa -- massages and treatments

*Specialty restaurants

*Teeth Whitening

*Telephone calls using ship's system

*Transfer to another passenger's account

*Voyage in Review DVD

*Wine and liquor tastings

*Zumba
