United Kingdom AMEX Cashback offer Celebrity Cruises

I’m hoping someone in the U.K. would be able to clarify this if they’ve taken up a similar AMEX cashback offer. My AMEX is currently offering £150 cashback / credit back to statement for single transactions of £1000 or more with Celebrity Cruises. Offer to be used by 31/03/2023 as far as I am aware. I intended on booking a Celebrity Cruise anyway so this would be a nice bonus for me. However, I only planned on paying the inital deposit of £150 per person (ie total £300) to begin with. The total trip cost itself is looking to be around £6500 or so for us both. Is there a way I can make a single payment of the minimum £1000 by the end of March for this trip, in order to qualify for this AMEX Celebrity Cruises cashback offer?

If you hit the 'Pay Balance' option in your reservation there will be the option to select a different amount to the full balance...

Yes, my husband recently paid some of the balance on our summer cruise in order to get the cash back. £150 was in the account really quickly.

I've just done this today. Had to do it on the phone to pay £1000 deposit instead of £300.  No problems at all and agent was even aware of the Amex deal when I explained what I wanted to do

Yep, as someone earlier said, you can do it online, just pay an additional amount.  If the other half has a card, then you can make 2 payments of £1000 and get £300 off

Paid off £1,000 of the balance owing early January and had the £150 credit on the online statement very quickly. Very efficient and made a lot of sense.

Thanks all! Can I pay the deposit with one credit card, and the £1000 off the total balance with my AMEX? Or do payments all need to be with same payment method?

You can use different cards for each payment.
