why no edge class out of NYC area?

just curious

there's a captive audience with some people who won't fly to cruises. You can charge more for canada than the Caribbean and still can get to bermuda like the summit does and charge more for that as well. there are even longer 10 and 11 days NCL does so they can go further than nassau.

seems like untapped demand

I don't know any line that has their newest, biggest ships out of the NYC area.  Just looking at where mass market lines have deployed, it seems the Caribbean still is the biggest gold mine on the seven seas.

Would an E-class ship be able to clear the Verrazano Bridge?

Same reason we don't get any in Tampa.  If we want to sail close to home we'll go with what they offer 🙂  Seems the newest go on the tried and true itineraries so you have a choice - itinerary or ship

Doesn't the bridge limit the ships that can dock in Tampa?

The Skyway bridge has more to do with the ships deployed in Tampa more than anything else.
