Bimini to Miami

Random question from a first timer. Bimini to Miami seems close and yet if I'm not mistaken we depart 8pm and arrive 6am. Is it really a 10 hour crossing or do they just take it mega easy?

Definitely take it easy. On our sailing a couple weeks ago there was a medical emergency and we were in Miami at 10:30 PM (might have been earlier, I fell asleep) on Friday night after leaving Bimini at 6:30 PM (I think).

Interesting.  I imagine if they arrive in Miami early they have to shut down the casino and also start adding tax to the drinks.

yep, and they shut all the shops because those can't operate in port.  word to the wise, if you're trying to burn a lot of sailor loot, don't leave it till the last night!

That's always the first thing that comes to my mind when someone on the ship is having a medical emergency 🙄

Just to be clear, this is not what I meant. I just meant if they get their earlier as some posts suggest by design.

I've only been on VV once, and it happened that there was a medical emergency. I don't imagine that they'd get there earlier by design, since it's also lost revenue for them.

The short trip is also part of why they were originally staying at the island until after midnight.  They found that most passengers were not interested in staying late.  They supposedly had a bonfire with dancing and stuff, but there were complaints of "nothing to do," food not good, etc...so now the ship departs in plenty of time......
