Cruise director Mark is making an announcement.   I can actually understand him quite well outdoors on the forward decks.  So many times such announcements are gibberish but not so on Radiance.

Last year on Radiance we definitely could understand the announcements, but only SOMETIMES they were audible from the room (both the captain and CD)....we knew there was that volume control inside, but we couldn't figure it out when it would work sometimes and not others....

I was thinking to myself "self, how did I not see any of these menus when I was on Radiance last year?" and then I realized that they were all QR codes or on the app last year....I am intrigued 🙂

Apologoze for the low quality cell phone pics.  It was a good performance.

You can see why these ships were so popular when they first launched.

The Colony Club is so cool, great for listening to music and/or dancing....I wished that they used it more on our trip last year, when everyone was squeezing into the Schooner bar or the pub or standing around the Centrum I was always like "put some music in the Colony Club!" but it was straight up CLOSED sometimes....

Breakfast in MDR and Chops pinnacle stops at 8am on GC day!!! Given that tendering wasn’t due to even start till 7:45 it’s highly likely that people (like me) would expect to get breakfast after 8am! Now sitting outside the back of WJ enjoying the view.

50+ Radiance Class Cruises, almost all 10+ nites, Repos, Panama Canal and at most once had 50 Kids, this when Senior Crew brought Families onboard a Boston/Florida Repo it was just before most changing over. Low runs about 10, usually 20 at most. Also Lucky, havent been on a 100% or higher Full Ship since the 90's. Passengers on my Radiance Class Sailings run 1750-2050, less during post CV startup

The C&A event is tomorrow morning so will find out how many are on board

I asked the Voom person about expectations for Starlink in Alaska.  I received an answer suited for the pre-Starlink days, mountains and being too far North, blocking the satellites, mountains everywhere, etc.

Boo!  We are going to Alaska and my husband already complaining that I paid for internet package.  I am very dumb when it comes to IT stuff.  Maybe you can answer for me. I have a FitBit and am obsessed with syncing the watch and my phone (app). It is my understanding that the tech works via Bluetooth, but  it appears that if I don't have wifi, I can't sync my watch to my phone app.  I had to open the cabin door when I woke up to get my wifi signal to sync and see my sleep stats.  If we don't have wifi package on cruise I will be SOL with syncing my FitBit and iphone?

I know, I can just wait until we are in port and use my regular cell phone plan to sync. Data saved for a whole week on the watch itself, but like I said, I have a problem. 🙂 LOL!

I'm not sure the Voom specialist understands how Starlink works.  It's vastly different than other satellite internet providers.  Until the first ship to Alaska soon we won't really know.   For synching fitbits it may work just fine.

So apparently the guest who was in my cabin is named Mary.  She is on all my dinner reservation.  😀

So Mary, don't be surprised if you get CAS points for this cruise you missed since apparently we're togther.  🤣
