Hotel Recommendation for Brooklyn Terminal Safe to park Car

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any experience with this port?  Need to find hotels that are safe and won't get our car broken into, close or do-able proximity to the Brooklyn Cruise Port location.  Prefer free breakfast if possible?

I suspect if a hotel provides parking it will cost more than parking at the terminal. Parking garages will cost more ad well.

There a many hotels in NYC ..... Brooklyn near the pier, not so much. In narrowing choices, the free breakfast would be at the bottom of my list.

If the OP is traveling from outside NYC, staying overnight near the city may better suit the stated needs. Parking at the pier would be the safest.

I meant a safe hotel to stay at pre-cruise with secure/safe parking, we will be parking at the port for the actual cruise.  I am looking for hotel recommendations for the night before.

As @Noxequifans has stated, staying overnight outside New York City may better suit your needs.

A possibility with NY City itself is either of two adjacent hotels on Staten Island, the Hilton Garden Inn or the Hampton Inn and Suites. AFAIK the Hampton has a complimentary breakfast. On a light traffic day it would take about a half hour to drive from either hotel to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal.

Where are you driving from? Your route will make some options better than others.

1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge is a great hotel to stay at for a cruise out of Brooklyn and is only 2.3 miles from the port - very quick 16 minute drive.  You can walk around safely in the evening and go over to The River Cafe (reservations required) for dinner if you want or eat dinner at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge.  Or you can arrange to have the hotel take you in their electric car to any nearby restaurant.  Use Valet parking or request a designated spot in their parking garage if you prefer when you make your reservation.  Dumbo rooms have a view of Dumbo.  Liberty rooms have a view of the water and Statue of Liberty and Bridge rooms have a view of the Brooklyn Bridge.  The bar on the roof has a fabulous view of the entire Manhattan Skyline!  Highly recommended!
