Cruising out of Athens (Piraeus)

We are on the Getaway out of Athens on July 12th. 

I have heard some stories about taxi´s dropping cruise guests off outside the port, and then you have to wait with your luggage for a shuttlebus to take you to the cruise terminal. 

Does anyone have experience with this?

We got a taxi to and from Piraeus last year and we dropped off just outside the terminal building.

 

Piraeus is a big port with multiple terminals, so perhaps it depends on the ships location.

We are on the Celebrity constellation. Cruise started in Athens 8 days ago. We took a taxi to the cruise port from our hotel. The driver was adamant that we tell him the berthe. It was in our cruise documents booklet. Ours was E12. I know this wasn’t NCL but I hope it was helpful. We stayed at the Marriott Athens only 20 minutes from the port but not a good location for walking around Athens.

Have embarked and disembarked in Piraeus many, many times. Have never heard of, nor seen, taxis dropping people off outside the port, since there really is no central area outside of the various terminals.

And never have seen a shuttle bus, either.

We were dropped right in front of our terminal. But the driver was a little confused and we had to encourage him. For instance, he got behind a long line of taxis who were there to pick up paddy not drop off. So as New Yorkers we showed him that he could go around.

Was there 2 weeks ago on Jade and taxi brought us directly to terminal (just tell them which terminal number from your documents)
