My advice is to judge all of this after you board the ship.

Maybe it's me but I am tinkled to pink that Crystal is sailing again and so very excited at all I have heard and read from those on-board right now.  It wasn't that long ago when we didn't even know if Crystal would ever sail again.  If a chair is not so comfortable we will make do or sit somewhere else and be so happy that Crystal is back with so many things we have enjoyed.

Today we already ran into four friends who we have not seen since 2019 and 2020 respectively.  We are thrilled that we will return to the cruise line we adore, sail with friends some of whom we have known for years, sail with the amazing Crystal Crew, and enjoy many amenities that the ship offers.

We are ready to go and will have the best time no matter what chair we sit in. JMO.

Totally agree.  Chairs look cheap and uncomfortable.  I hope I am wrong.

I almost went with booking crystal and took my chance and booked on Explora I and so far that ship is stunning. While the crystal ships have been updated, there are some areas that show their age.

I hear you. All I can say is the ship is stunning. Most areas have been updated. Even the pool and paddle tennis courts with new flooring.

For me what makes it so special is walking around and I met so many guests we know and so many crew.  This for us has always been special and today reaffirmed this.

In the end we are all fortunate to cruise and that there is something out there for just about everyone.

Not sure why refurbished isn't as good as new but..  It has never been the physical ship that made the biggest difference to me - sure it has to be Ok but the crew, dining, enrichment, entertainment, etc. are much more important to me than the decorations or size of rooms.
