It's been awhile..... Wonder of the seas Sep 3-10 2023

Sailing Wonder Sept 3-10! Very excited to be back! I have a few questions.

-We haven't sailed with RC since 2018, because of the shutdown and having a child. Do we still need to print boarding passes, or are the passes in the app all we need along with passports. (Obviously print luggage tags.)

-Also, this is our first time booking a GTY cabin! On the app our boarding passes have the deck but no stateroom, am I able to narrow down which rooms may be ours by what is left available on the website, or is this incorrect?

-We also bid on Royal Up, if we are not selected will we get a denial email, or just never hear back? Not hopeful, but one can dream.

- Are the wrist band key cards a good $10 investment? Do they work well on board? Parents with a toddler, so something to help free up our hands sound blissful.

Thanks all!

The cards are chipped and I just wear mine on a lanyard, just wave it at your door or in the casino. Dont need to remove from plastic. Idk if wow bands are sold all the time, they sound iffy.

I personally print my boarding pass so I dont hold up the line while i fumble with a device to show them., no rule says you need to print but I do. I'd wait to print until your gty has been assigned.

Royal up replies can come as late as after you board. Check your phone boarding day.

This is incorrect but here's how you can likely find your cabin within minutes of reading this...

Bar Code Trick

Method 1. If you have an Apple device, add your set sail pass to your Apple wallet. Numbers will now appear under your bar code. The numbers after the dash represent your cabin.

Method 2. Scan the bar code with a QR scanner from another device and that should also show you the numbers.

NOTE: If you see "GTY" instead of numbers, you truly haven't been assigned yet. One tip off is that if you don't see a muster station on your set sail pass then you almost definitely don't have an assignment yet.

We always print our set sail passes. Can't be bothered fumbling around with a phone. Also works for drinks if you have a drinks package.

Royal Up remains open until the ship leaves the dock. So, you will get a denial email sometime after leaving on your cruise.

To us, it is a waste of money. About the only think it helps with is opening your cabin door if your hands are full. Otherwise, you and your arm have to get to every point of sale (versus just handing someone a card).

Quick question concerning Sea Passes.  First timer on RCL and we punched our NCL key and put it on a lanyard.  What is the best way to use the Sea Pass?

The new ships have rfid embedded in the cards do not try to punch a hole.  Get a plastic sleeve if you want to use a lanyard.

Thanks for that info!  I was thinking that was the case.  Ok, so any lanyard should work?
