Rare ninjacat123 Posted August 14, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2023 Hey all! I received a survey in my email from Carnival specifically about the comedy shows. One question was "would you attend a 5-5:30pm comedy show" which I said I would. Many questions about what type of comedy do I prefer. Anyone else get this in their email? TIA! xyzcruiser Posted August 14, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2023 Just finished it. I would go to a 5pm comedy show for sure. I don't enjoy the nightly shows in the big theater anymore, so I try to see all the comedy shows but those venues are always so crowded.
staceyglow Posted August 14, 2023 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2023 I wish they would put the comic in the main theater more often. I am not a fan of many of the big production shows. They just aren't very good.

Rare txcruiser1234 Posted August 14, 2023 #5 Share Posted August 14, 2023 (edited) Early in the survey they asked something like "What could make your comedy experience better?" I suggested adding a late, late show or having more R shows in the theater to spread out the crowds. Later in the survey, they asked about the 5pm comedy show - I said no b/c I assumed that would be a PG show, although the survey did not specify... I suppose if the normal two later shows were R that would serve the purpose of spreading out the crowds though. On the question about the types of comedy I was interested in: I liked them all except for the "wordplay" option - I don't think I could sit through half an hour of puns... VentureMan_2000 Posted August 14, 2023 #6 Share Posted August 14, 2023 Yup. Finished it this morning. I wish during the survey that I had the names of the comedians during our June Alaska cruise.

CarnivalShips480 Posted August 14, 2023 #8 Share Posted August 14, 2023 Same here. Did the survey today but could hardly remember names. Interesting that they sent it out.
nwcruiselover Posted August 14, 2023 #9 Share Posted August 14, 2023 I got the survey and just completed. My main suggestion was to have the shows in a larger venue or have more shows so they’re not so crowded and people don’t have to wait 30-45 minutes to get in. I also got the impression that Carnival was concerned about the "style" of comedy and how passengers perceived it.

Rare ncovert Posted August 15, 2023 #13 Share Posted August 15, 2023 I also received, and completed the this survey. Wish I could remember more of the names of the comedians we have seen. Definitely one of DW and I’s favorite activities on our cruises.
Rare momin05 Posted August 15, 2023 #14 Share Posted August 15, 2023 We enjoy comedy and usually find the PG shows are better…they seem to have to work harder to actually be funny versus just use a lot of profanity. On our July 31 Sunshine cruise, one comedian was really good and the other was pretty bad. They also had a 3pm show one sea day, which I had never seen before. It was the most jammed of any show I have ever attended. I don’t know why no one ever closed the doors. People were coming in all throughout the show and you couldn’t even get into the room, and they would leave. I feel like Carnival does such a good job managing all the other activities/entertainment/meals on the ship but just drop the ball on Comedy. Maybe the survey is a sign of better things to come.
