Greg  --  we only wish there were more local than chain...

The chains have been pushing the locals out - just like everywhere.

I forgot to mention we also have Sportsman's Warehouse...

 

The Locals vs. Chains also goes for the Restaurants...

Almost all new restaurants are chain restaurants.

We were moving too fast but the sign says nobody has hit a moose on this road since July 1st. this is a big moose area.

not too happy with the lunch options. I want to eat something local and this is mostly garbage gas station food.  I went with this crab sushi because it says its made with Alaskan seafood.

Guide is talking about how Alaskans call it a snow machine not mobile and how strong they feel about that. It’s the same thing in New Orleans. If you go there and don’t want to sound like a tourist, it’s a streetcar, not a trolley.
