Celestyal Journey - A new ...journey begins for Celestyal Cruises

CELESTYAL JOURNEY arrived at Piraeus earlier Friday afternoon for maiden time under Celestyal Cruises livery in order to start her cruises on Saturday 2.9.2023 replacing the famous Crystal.

So good to see her coming back into service! I sailed on her in 2000 and loved her when she was Ryndam.  Hopefully she has another 15 to 20 years left in her.  I do wonder though what this means for the Celestial Crystal though?

I sailed on the Ryndam in its first 6 months. I loved her! Sailing this coming August, can't wait!

I’ve been reading that it’s an absolute disaster.  Filthy ship, hanging electrical wires, no ac, toilets not flushing.  I came on to see what’s been reported, surprised nothing more here.

An old ex-Holland America “S” class ship may prove to be no bargain for Celestyal.

They were well known for a/c and plumbing issues, leaks, etc. near the end of their prior life.

I sailed on these S class ships frequently, including in their later years, and never had an issue. I've heard many, many more problems reported on the Saw dam and Zuiderdam.

I've also read a review posted elsewhere of this ship which spoke very highly of this ship in all aspects.
