Tell her you just received a message from Princess that says it will be leaving earlier, say 2 PM...

I want to arrive by 10:00 or 10:30 AM. I could drive to the port in about 3 hours (3.5 if there is traffic) but it would cost me a good $800 - $900 for parking. No thanks. We will just have to agitate for an early departure and see what happens.

I've had this happen a couple of times.  Likely for other traffic at the port.

Don't know but we are cruising out of San Pedro (Los Angeles) in April and October of next year and both departure times are 3:00pm.

We will just have to browbeat her into leaving early. We won't miss the ship but I want to be at the port fairly early. They live in Sebastapol so it's not super close to the port.

If it’s a weekday tell her that you want to make use of the carpool lane that ends at 9:00 am in the North Bay.  Saves on toll and potentially time spent in traffic.  (Sometimes the carpool lane in the Bay Area is a standstill like the non-carpool lanes.)
