cocomango Posted September 17, 2023 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2023 Hello all, I booked about 3 weeks ago for an Oct 23 sailing. I did not get the insurance but now I think I should have. Can I still add it? If yes, how do I do that? (I see the website is down today so I can't access anything) If not, can you recommend other insurance companies I can go through? I usually book on Costo and get their insurance which is separate from the booking- that might have been why I didn't select it when I booked directly through Carnival this time. Appreciate your help! Thank you!
Butterbean1000 Posted September 17, 2023 #2 Share Posted September 17, 2023 We went thruough Insure My Trip. It's like a clearing house. We went with Nationwide Mutual Universal Cruise. It was $300 for 2. Clark Howard, who is a local financial guru in the Atlanta area, recommended this. It's a pretty comprehensive policy.
mjkacmom Posted September 17, 2023 #3 Share Posted September 17, 2023 It’s usually better to get 3rd party insurance rather than through the cruise line.

If you want to go with Carnival's insurance, you can call customer service, or your PVP if you have one. In the case of Insure My Trip, policies often get more expensive as the cruise gets closer, so keep that in mind. Some have a deadline to be purchased by a certain date before the cruise. 7 hours ago, Butterbean1000 said: Clark Howard, who is a local financial guru in the Atlanta area, recommended this. He's still going, huh?

He's still alive and well and saving us poor folks money.
