Alaska. Which ship and which port.

We are planning our first Alaska cruise for next May. We have three similar itineraries and two ships. There are four common ports, but the fifth varies by itinerary.

Itinerary 1. Crown Princess, calling at Victoria and cruising Glacier Bay

Itinerary 2. Crown Princess calling at Victoria and cruising Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier

Itinerary 3. Ruby Princess calling at Prince Rupert and cruising Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier.

We appreciate any feedback on which itinerary and ship you would choose and why. Thanks

Glacier Bay would be the deciding factor for me.

Like you, we have done Alaska cruise as yet.  I would not even consider booking a voyage that did not include Glacier Bay.

As everyone else has said, Glacier Bay. It's not only for the scenery. Several National Park rangers come onboard while in the national park. One will be giving commentary from the bridge. One will be working directly with special activity for those in the kid's program. There's plenty of time to see the others, but definitely Glacier Bay for your first Alaska cruise.
