Pre Dinner Music

Hello Fellow Cruisers,

 

Considering the Rotterdam for the end of January - 9 night ABC. Have not been on HAL since the NS in 2019. We do the 8pm dinner and enjoy drinks, a little dancing and music pre dinner. That was non existent on the NS in 2019. Has HAL brought back music in the Ocean Bar early evening? Also is the music in Rolling Stone strictly “rock” or a good mix of genres for dancing?

No.  The grand piano sits forlornly in the corner.  Unused and unloved.

More rock than mix.  There does seem to be much more dancing in BBKings

Right, the best dancing will be in the BB King lounge, R&R is hard rock.

R & R wasn't hard rock on my last NS cruise.  It was a great mix of classic rock and some new-ish stuff. To me, hard rock is Guns n Roses, Deff Leppard.  YMMV.

We had a psychedelic group on the Rotterdam.

On Rotterdam for 35 days in Dec/Jan 2023 there was a band that played pre-dinner music in the Ocean Bar. They were not loud and not rock. Some couples danced in front of the band area.

Thank you all! It’s to bad HAL has not added music pre dinner. We always enjoyed BBKing, but when they weren’t playing, there wasn’t much going on in them way of music. Its the one thing that keeps us from returning to HAL.

That lonely piano was in use for our April cruise, but not for our September dates. It was nice.
