Ok well if you guys are gonna double down on it then go ahead and sue them for False Advertising. I'm sure you'll win.

"The federal Lanham Act allows civil lawsuits for false advertising that “misrepresents the nature, characteristics, qualities, or geographic origin” of goods or services. 15 U.S.C. § 1125(a). The FTC also enforces false advertising laws on behalf of consumers."

It makes no difference to me. I've only bought Cheers once and back then you actually did save 10%. Let it be a lesson to you - don't believe everything you read. We all learn that lesson eventually in life.

Well, there is the "Up To 10%.  If at one point in time the someone saved "up to 10%," the wording isn't false.

RCI says you can say 40% of drink packages, but when you look at it, it's a case of water.

The problem is - it isn't "up to" 10%.

The maximum you save is $5

$59.95 vs $64.95

That is 7.7% off.

Or (because someone who doesn't understand percentages will bring up gratuity)

The maximum you save including gratuity is $5.90

$70.74 vs $76.64

That is 7.7% off.

There is no 10%, there is no way to get 10%, and their advertisement is just false.

Also, "Up To" 10% off infers all amounts from $0 to $10.

No, it doesn't.

Up To 10% off infers all amounts from 0% to 10%. It infers no dollar amounts.

In fact, no discount other than exactly 7.7% is available.

I have canceled pre-ordered Cheers in order to book it again with a Chase credit card promo. They don't want people getting on the ship and deciding its not for them, or canceling it after the first sea day.

Or drinking heavily the first day or two (as most people who drink do) and then cancelling when the cruise becomes port-heavy.

I just did a check on Carnival's website to see if the price was raised.  The advertised price is still $59.95 under Drink Packages.  Not until you get to the cart and ready to pay does the price show $69.95.  That's a little tricky for those that do not know about the increase.  By not looking closely at the total, someone could easily pay more than they were planning.

The new price is showing on the website now

OMG... Hilarious,  I must have dipped into the Cheers pre-cruise...  Yup, percentage signs are not the same as dollar signs...  🤣🤣🤣

That is what we would call false advertising.

The pricing (previous of current) no longer matters to me, but I can offer a comment about the false/incorrect information presented above . . . .

The joyful lady in red cheerfully applauding the fact the one in blue was able to acquire the real glass hurricane beverage, plastic straw, and paper umbrella with fruit garnish a few years after they were discontinued. She accepts defeat of only receiving the straw.  A good sport indeed. 😄 😄
