Monday Night Football - Nieuw Amsterdam

Hello!  Important question here.  LOL!  
 

My family of Philadelphia Eagles fans (and one Kansas City Chiefs fan) will be onboard the Nieuw Amsterdam’s Thanksgiving Cruise.   The highly anticipated rematch between the Eagles and Chiefs will be the Monday night game.   My gang wants to watch this game and are assuming it be shown on the ship. I hate to be skeptical, but wondering if it’s even possible on this ship?  We were on the Zaandam in January and were able to get the playoffs but the reception wasn’t that great.     Anyone been on this ship recently who can comment on the quality of the TV reception?

On our NA cruise last December they had football games on in the casino bar. That's the only place I saw sports on TV

On Zaandam in September, they had a short list of NFL games on Sunday available in the cabins. The sports bar might be the better chance for seeing the game.

Just off the Volendam two weeks ago.  They had a number of pro and college football games available, BUT sometimes the signal was not good,  I missed the first half of the MNF game, but the second half was fine (in my cabin).  Depends alot on where you are sailing at (we had issues when in Alaska).

Currently on the Nieuw Amsterdam and have not missed a game yet.  The TV has the Monday, Sunday, and Thursday Night games as well as eight games on Sunday.

Monday Night Football is broadcast by ESPN. That's a network regularly carried by HAL, so you should be able to get the game. 
Location of the ship, and sometimes direction of the ship, can make a difference in whether or not the game signal is actually received. It's been known to happen that the funnel blocks the signal from the receiver if the ship is headed in the wrong direction.

And if it's Kansas City, I'm all in!  I'm a big fan of the love duo and hope they last till then.  If not, we will have new songs to sing!  Haha! Ditsy post, I know, but it's happy fun news to follow.

Just off Eurodam, and they had 7 or so games on your stateroom tv, including MNF. The ultimate experience is watching games on a Princess ship on their huge screens. Two years ago I watched all the division championship thrillers on the big Princess screen, and two weeks later watched the Super Bowl on the screen leaving LA, with the game played nearby. Princess also has a bar next to the casino with sports screens covering entire walls, also a nice place to watch games. On one HAL ship years ago they broadcast the Super Bowl in the theater.

Depends on location. But I must say that we watched my Chiefs beat Philadelphia in the 2023 Superbowl from Tasmania, Australia! And the Chiefs beat San Francisco in the 2020 Superbowl from Antarctica! I'm hoping for a three-peat on the 2024 world!
