flights from Athens, Greece

Hello

Looking for advice on booking round trip flights from Athens, Greece.  The ship is scheduled to be back into Athens on Sunday, 8/17 at 7:00 am.  The best return flight is at 12:50 pm.  Is this doable in Athens, or is it recommended to wait until Monday to fly out?  We are using points to pay for a portion of the tickets so our options for flights are a bit limited.  Thanks,

We are on a similar cruise that disembarks in Athens on August 18.  HAL's Flight Ease allows booking flights as early as 11:30AM that day and we are actually considering a flight at 12:50PM, which may be the same as you are looking at.  So yes, there should be no problem with that flight.

We finished a cruise in Athen's a couple of weeks ago and our flight was 12:10.

 

We booked HAL transfers on board (using some OBC) and all they had was the 8:30 transfer (7:30 was full). Knowing it was an hour trip... I figured no-go. They told me - no problem ... so living on the edge ....we agreed.

 

The bus was a little late leaving (just to make me more nervous), we arrived around 9:45 and then, like gomers who had never flown before??, we stood in the wrong check-in line (it was an Alliance partner so had our Air Canada on the sign) for 45 minutes ..and even after all that, we still had plenty of time for our flight.

It's a half an hour drive from Piraeus to the airport by taxi, so plenty of time.

Schedule your ride….for 30 min after Walk off…..  plan for 1 hour drive….. 2 hours plus at airport… 12:50pm should work…. We just did such

The ship docks at 5 am (Sun Princess).  Do you think if we walk off at 7 am we can make an inter-island flight at 10:30 am?  We won't walk off with our luggage in tow.

You should be able to make it, but you don't have a lot of extra time. Consider booking a private transfer so you don't waste time looking for a taxi or waiting for a shuttle bus to fill up.

Thanks for all of the advice.  Flights have been booked.  Can't wait for August to arrive. By the way, Delta seems to have some very good prices to Athens at the moment.
