Butterbean1000 Posted November 2, 2023 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2023 I heard something happened to the Magic in Grand Turk yesterday. Some kind of emission from the ship. It was several hours late leaving. Does anyone know what happened?

NJ CRUISE Posted November 5, 2023 #5 Share Posted November 5, 2023 I was on this sailing. There was a quick power outage. Shortly after, the Captain came on the speaker and described the incident just as stated in the article. He did sound upset / concerned about the issue. We did leave late, but all the activities went on as planned as the crew addressed the situation. I was playing a slot machine when the power went out. I happened to be in the middle of the bonus round on Dragon Link. There was a concern I would lose that game, but the machine did re-set just where I left off. So, no harm no foul. The Captain kept us informed and the crew handled the situation well.

Against the dark background of soot-spill, I thought this was pretty nifty. I would never have expected slot machines to fare so well after a power outage. Casinos being open while in port is controlled by the local Government - if they have casinos of their own there will be restrictions on Cruise ships operating their own casinos while docked / in the local waters. If they don't have their own, they might not be as interested. I'm guessing T&C aren't big gambling centers?
