Trirail train between Fort Lauderdale Airport and Miami Airport

Has anyone flown into Fort Lauderdale airport and taken the trirail train to Miami Airport?  What are the pros and cons?  I'm Flying into FLL but staying in Miami and the hotel in Miami has free shuttle service to the airport.

The big con is that Tri-Rail does not leave from FLL - you need to take a shuttle.  Otherwise, as long as you can handle you r bags and don't mind the wit for the next train it is a cheap option.

When we used tri-rail last year, there was a free shuttle to/from the FLL airport to/from the Dania Beach tri-rail station.  The Dania Beach/FLL tri-rail station is (obviously) very close to FLL.

 

Easy peezy.  No problem for us with luggage.

Depends on the make up of your party.  The Dania Beach TriRail station is also a bus transfer station so there are many transients loitering there.  If you are set on the train, use the Brightline train.  If you have more than one person, ride share is the better offer.

Brightline is a beautiful train but it goes to downtown Miami, not to Miami International Airport. So that's kind of pointless.

Also, keep in mind that TriRail has reduced service on weekend days.

Some tickets come with a Uber ride.  Those that don't, a taxi/rideshare is a easy connection

You can also take MetroRail from Government Center in Miami to the Airport. The free Uber rides Brightline once offered had a 5 mile limit. A taxi or rideshare to the airport from downtown is another $25 and from FLL, much more.  Again, TriRail goes directly to MIA. If that's where Balloonman511 wants to go, your ideas are pointless.

They could also walk directly there making all your points pointless.
