Emerald sauna

good morning. Are the steam and sauna on deck 16 on the Emerald free for anyone, or is there a fee?

We were on the Emerald in August this year. The sauna and steam room access has been changed and now you must buy into the spa to use them.  It used to be that on Grand and Crown class ships they were included in fare. Royal class ships have always had them located within paid access.

There used to be free saunas available but from what I understand they took that space and converted it into other spa services. 😞

The steam and saunas that used to be in the respective changing rooms by the fitness center were removed/converted with the last Emerald  Drydock. The same change was implemented for the steam and saunas on the recent Ruby Princess drydock, so it appears to be a pattern/plan for this class of ship.

Thanks, I appreciate the info. I had used both dry and wet saunas when in Upstate NY at a gym there. Oh well.

The Emerald now has the Thermal Spa on deck 15 instead, wich can be accessed from deck 16. It has no hydro-therapy pool like the Royal Class ships, but heated loungers, sauna and steam room. You can book it for a fee.
