Waiting for dinner and got a nice almost-sunset shot from the balcony.  And why oh why NCL do you not post your MDR menu on the app every day? I need to plan my strategy!!!!!

Are those menus posted outside the mdr?

Make a note of that and include that as a suggestion for your post cruise survey.

I believe they post them outside the restaurant and I’ll definitely suggest it as an app feature.  Seems easy for them and might even sell a few internet packages as a result!

@HoosierShipmate, surprised that you said ship was late clearing passengers before your boarding.  We were in Haven lounge before your cruise and Concierge told us we all 'must disembark now' about 9:10am. She hadn't  said anything prior to that time.  She rushed 3 full elevators of us out at the same time 😒.  Normally they let us know how long we can wait there if regular disembarkation is going slow.

Customs was fast as they used facial recognition.  Didn't need to see passports.  Have a great cruise and don't miss Rumours show at Syd Normans😎

I don’t know what the holdup was, port folk said they were still clearing people off the ship and we saw departures as late as maybe 11:00 or so.  And we definitely plan to go to Syd’s! Tonight is SIX so maybe that will be in tomorrow’s list!

Dinner tonight - The Manhattan Room.  Love the look and feel of this restaurant but we’ve never been seated so close to the band - it was a bit loud when they were performing!

The entertainment was really good, just super loud because of where we were seated.

And yes per the earlier discussion they do post the menu out front…..still needs to be on the app!

They need better lighting so I can control those shadows!

Ok again I didn’t eat all of these. As an avid Yelper it pains me not to comment in detail but here we go briefly:

Spring rolls. I’m pretty sure four people had six orders. Embarrassing but true. They weren’t special, just had a picky eater who loves spring rolls lol

export_17.jpeg.01baf8c998eaded22f3b90634bb29ad1.jpeg

Clam Chowder was very good

export_18.jpeg.016c289cf5c68595e8ea1965044b1b0f.jpeg

Spinach Artichoke Dip. I wouldn’t eat this if I was starving but I’m told it was good.

export_16.jpeg.640845020032913f77c2eded984d527c.jpeg

Josh had NY strip and said it was good.  I always like the steak but they drown it which bothers me.

export_13.jpeg.462d2ddfcceca2410a86d5e6ae98cf48.jpeg

I had the fettuccine Alfredo with mushrooms and shrimp.  It was exceptional. I’ll get it again, maybe as a side with something else too.

export_12.jpeg.784eb805a1b8a504e0a3553b70dc8c4a.jpeg

Angie had shrimp alla vodka and loved it too.

export_10.jpeg.919906105d1bc3da5a203c2c866934b7.jpeg

Chelsie had bacon and bourbon chicken - and she’s a pretty picky eater but loved it. Photo doesn’t really do it justice. It came on a potato and corn on the cob.

export_11.jpeg.aa827d14150b7f3f18179b94ac419963.jpeg

Took a photo of wine we had tonight bc we really liked it and I always forget when I’m home what I need to buy locally.

export_15.jpeg.76bf0e508b42e429f130720d0492dd8e.jpeg

Pleased that I remembered a photo of the dessert menu tonight!

export_9.jpeg.1468f411984daf43b5195db829dec6a4.jpeg

I had cherries jubilee and apple strudel- both were great but the apples win.  Jubilee needed more ice cream to make it work I think.

export_1.jpeg.482d3cf819dfa9e495b64be1c4993fc2.jpeg

Josh had CJ too and wasn’t impressed.

Chelsie went traditional with chocolate ice cream and Angie chose the fruit plate.  You can judge her or judge me, but not both 🙂 that health option is never going to be my choice on vacation!

Service tonight was perfect - they were the perfect level of attentive throughout the whole meal.  My family drinks an insane amount of water (see liquids are good!) and we do bottled still water they just kept bringing more and more bottles - and one for the road.  They did tease us a bit about the obsession with spring rolls too and were a lot of fun.  Makes me miss the ‘old days’ of assigned tables and times so you could really get to know your servers.

Now a quick rest before SIX in the theater.

I know these dinner posts are long I hope they aren’t boring you!

Ok on one of our first cruises, might have been Celebrity Galaxy, we saw a show - ‘Mike Price: Master Juggler’ and oddly he was ridiculously talented and amazing. But since then most shows have disappointed me.

Until SIX.  In the world of cruise ship theater I was very impressed. Great production, and I now understand why it’s always a sold out show.  I understand they’re not going to be on board much longer, but if you’re sailing soon, make the reservation early and enjoy the show! I might even try to talk the fam

into the standby line later this week.

If anyone in your party happens to go through the casino, can they see if the Breakaway offers player vs player Texas Hold' Em poker cash games (not the player vs. casino pit game Ultimate Texas Hold' Em)? I've heard mixed things and someone on one of my future trips is an avid player. Hope y'all enjoy your trip!

They definitely have a live texas hold ‘em game @ometauru and tournaments as well.  I don’t know if they’re limit or no limit or the stakes.  I’ll try to ask tonight.  I didn’t see anyone playing which could be an issue - if they can’t get enough to keep a game going it would get annoying to start and stop - probably easier to run late at night.  Will update later after I ask. Or play. 🙂

Awesome, thanks! You definitely sound like you're familiar with the subject 😊

Last I heard it was 2/5 no limit, but that was several years ago. Best of luck if you play!

Thank you for this live and including the menus and dailies! Much appreciated. We will be onboard in about a month.

@Laurenran Having a great trip so far - we love Breakaway and hope you have a great trip!  If you have any questions or request pics I’m happy to oblige. Otherwise it just looks like all we do is eat! 🙂

We are now in Cozumel! We still haven’t decided if we will leave the ship or not, feels like a breakfast decision. If we do we won’t be ashore long.
............

You docked at Punta Langosta, yes? We like that area because it's near our favorite place to get a beverage and/or brunch, Las Palmeras. We have been to Coz so many times we're sometimes tempted to not disembark, but then we remember the fun and good food we've had at that restaurant, and off we go. (Warning: their margaritas are POTENT). We were recently in Cabo San Lucus on the west coast; what a different vibe from Cozumel. Neither bad, just very different.

Also, you have visited at least two of the MDR's so far. I'm wondering which you prefer and why? On our last Breakaway cruise we use the Manhattan for all meals other than the "Specialty Dining" at Cagney's and  Le Bistro. We enjoyed the Manhattan, and  just never got around to trying the others. Keep in mind we are two oldsters and like peace and quiet and decorum over excitement! I don't recall the loud music in Manhattan you mentioned, I suppose we were never seated too close to the band.

I'm the former, but fortunately not the latter. I wonder if I can get a 25% discount?

Unfortunately no. This is actually a government thing that most people don’t know. Government parking like city’s and county’s and at airports n such offer free parking for the 50%disabled vet. But u must do your research because many parking attendants don’t know about it.

Correct on the pier. We are like you….every cruise stops at Cozumel so why go again!?  But here we are off the ship. Probably won’t eat but will stretch our legs walking around and maybe sit at Starbucks (you know to really immerse ourselves in the culture in a typical touristy way) - my addiction is coffee over margaritas lol.

MDR’s - the food is the same but Manhattan Room just feels ‘classier’ - if not seated near the stage like last night that would be my pick.  But honestly it might come down to shortest wait time! If you want quiet I think Taste and Savor are safer bets.

Greetings from Cozumel!

@ltmguy I saw the request for officer board and comedian and will get to that tonight I think.  Quinn the comedian is on board and we’ve seen him before and enjoyed.  Need to hunt down the officer board

Thanks, I was asking in jest anyway, but I did not know that, so thanks.

Thanks, I'll note that for our cruise in March. We did like the Manhattan MDR, and we usually eat pretty early so it was not too crowded.
