Celebrity Newbie Questions

After over a dozen cruises, we are finally getting a chance to experience Celebrity (Reflection.)  We are so excited! It’s been on our bucket list since we started cruising, but the price/itinerary combo has never been right. For reference, most of our sailings have been on Princess.

A few questions I have

1. Can someone describe the process for getting drinks with the package? Do we have to sign? Can we get a couple at a time and put some beer in our fridge for when we want quiet time in our room, or is it strictly one at a time? Can I use room service to get drinks?

2. Is there a live dealer for Hold ‘Em or is it the electronic table?

3. What is the lowest bet available for BJ?

4. I know it’s subjective, but how are the pillows? We are in a position to bring our own. I’m curious if people generally find them too hard and/or too squishy. I haven’t spent much time in this forum, so I’ve no idea.

5. Is there a 24/7 place to get food, drinks and/or coffee?

6. Are the cabin walls magnetic?

7. What are the room service charges?

8. Is there a wrap-around promenade? I couldn’t determine based on the deck plans.

Also, any subjective information you’d like to add would be appreciated.  One never knows what one doesn’t know. If there’s a thread on “wish I knew it ahead of time,” stuff, please point me to it. On the Princess forum it’s called Princess Secrets.

THANK YOU!

show your card, nothing to sign as long as you are under the price point

should be one at a time

Can I use room service to get drinks?

No, room service is not included in your package

no

1.  You present your card when you order the drink.  The card identifies which drink package you have, if any.  If the drink you order in within your package price, then you do not get a receipt.  If the drink is over your package limit, you get a receipt that charges the price difference plus an automatic 20% gratuities charge on the difference.
2.  It has been a live dealer at the tables I have played.
3.  I have seen it as low as $10. But, I have not played in a while.m

4.  I have not had any issues with the pillows.  They are soft to me.

5.  Not to my knowledge. I believe the Ocean View cafe does close for food for short periods, especially in the early mornings. I believe you can get water and coffee still though. Never stayed up for 24 hours
6.  Yes.
7.   Unless you are in the Retreat, I believe it is $9.95 plus a 20% gratuity.  Continental breakfast is still available without the service charge.
8.  I cannot remember for sure but I do not believe there is, except outside on the upper decks.

Just a quick comment regarding pillows -- the stateroom attendants have access to all kinds of pillows.  Soft pillows, firm pillows, isotonic pillows and so forth.  If you don't find the pillows in your stateroom to your liking just ask for something else.  Let them fix the problem.  The cruise line wants to you sleep comfortably.

Without rehashing what others have said.

1. food, most close around 10 pm. The OV will stay open for light snacks until around 1 am. This includes the pizza station at the back.

2. Last time I was on a cruise (Feb 2022). min bid was $10 but they also had a lower limit day on the last sea day, and the minimum bid dropped to $5. I wasn't getting great vibes from the casino on the last cruise, so I only played my OBC remaining on the sea day to have fun. (it was a nonrefundable OBC.)

3. I find the pillows extremely soft and hate them, on every cruise I've taken. I've always asked for an extra pillow, and the room attendant puts them in when they do our turn-down service.

You will only be able to get one drink at a time. Many just pass by a bar on the way to their cabin and ask for an unopened beer which you can take with you. Ask your room attendant to empty the mini bar and you can stock your own water, beer and soda.

If you order drinks from room service you will be charged for them, plus the room service fee. They are not included as part of the drink packages.
