Carnival sports betting kiosk - a brief look

On the Carnival Magic, which I was on in November, I noticed some kiosks where sports bets could be placed. I didn't make any bets on it at the time.

On the Carnival Dream, which I am on RIGHT NOW, there are two more sports betting kiosks. This time I pulled the trigger and made a couple of bets.

First of all, a few gotchas. You need to insert money or winning tickets in order to bet on the kiosk. You can't use your casino balance or a room charge to bet here.

Once I put my cash in,  betting was simple - just select the bet you want and the amount, confirm it, then print.

I made two bets at this kiosk. First was an alternate bet for $20 on the Bucs +7 at -125 on their upcoming playoff game. That will turn into $36 if it wins The regular line was -6.5, -110 at the time, but I thought having the extra half point was wise. We'll see.

The other bet was $22 at -110 over 49 points on the Bucs-Lions game. That one will win $42 if things go my way.

Those were the two bets I found of most interest. I might make others in the next few days. It's a relatively long cruise.

As an addedum to this, I made a separate sports bet through the Carnival app.

It can only be done while the physical casino onboard is open. Also, it doesn't list any NFL games for this weekend - possibly because we'll be off the ship by the time they kick off.

The bet process was fairly painless - similar to the experience on the kiosk. Unfortunately, the game itself and the results were much more painful. 🤬

Anyone know which CCL ships this is currently on? Is the app on all ships or just the ones with a kiosk? I'm specifically looking for Carnival Horizon.

I was on the Carnival Dream in January, on which my previous posts were based. It had both the kiosks and access to the app. The Carnival Magic also had a sports betting kiosk when I last sailed on her in November. I don't remember if that ship had access to sports betting via the app.

I have not heard about kiosks on any other Carnival ships, which is not to imply that they don't exist.

Were you able to watch whatever game you wagered on?.....or were there limits to what games they showed?

I streamed the football game I bet on. It might have been available in the public bar areas, but I wasn't interested. I didn't watch the basketball game. I can't imagine any of the bars broadcasting it at the time, it being a matchup between two of the worst teams in the league.
