How to get a room on a sold out cruise

Can you request to be put on some kind of waiting list for a room. The cruise is 3 months out. I’ve seen some rooms pop up then disappeared. They were for a higher category than what we are looking for.

Once, I tried to book a cruise through Carnival and it was sold out.  I tried the travel agent route.  On my second agency, I got lucky.  They happened to have the exact room that I wanted.

Fanal payment is due 90 days before the cruise (75 days on shorter cruises), so at three months you should see some rooms become available again when people make the decision to cancel at that time.
