YTD table size

Recommended Posts

We are a group of ten sailing on Celebration this coming May. All of us have YTD and are linked. What are the chances that if all of us want to eat together the same night, that they can accommodate us with a table for ten?

We had 10 -12 on our last cruise.  I went down to the MDR at brunch and requested a table.  They gave me a specific time to come eat and our table would be ready.  We didn't have to reserve in the app.  We did this on 2 of the nights.

They can accommodate you. But, for a group that large, you might be waiting a while if a table is not available when you check in on the app.

Plus I cannot imagine trying to corral a party of ten every night and getting them to decide when to eat dinner.

This is so helpful!  We have 10 on Vista in a couple weeks - will they allow you to make a reservation on the app during the day for a specific time for dinner?

The HUB app doesn't allow for "reservations" until the "opening time" for YTD. Last week we were on Jubilee..and YTD started at 5:30. I think this varies btsy ship. However once it opens, it will give a guesstimated wait time...so you kinda gotta just "wing it'...and base the wait time vs the time you'd like to have dinner. Earlier times seem to have the longest waits, and even longer on play dress up night. Wait times we've found to fairly close...many time less than the estimate.

The word 'reservation' is a misnomer. The Hub App simply puts you in a queue. Think of it like visiting the hostess stand to put your name in for a table remotely. There are no reservations associated with ATD on Carnival.

Just a suggestion/ another option- We have been on a couple of cruises with groups of 15-30 people and the person organizing our dinners in the MDR had a good process. We would meet at a quiet lounge for drinks before dinner ( 5:30-6 ) and our "host" would go to the MDR desk with the names/cabin numbers of whoever wanted to go to dinner together- the MDR staff would then tell him when to come back as a group and we would get the larger tables at the back of the MDR. It may sound complicated but it ran smoothly every night.

Hi gang - we are just off the Vista so I wanted to provide an update:  We did YTD with 10 people.  We were able to check in on the app and got a table almost immediately every night (we did check in between 545-615 each night, so that might have helped).  There are plenty of tables for ten - in 7 nights, we sat at 5 different tables.

The app does indicate that if you have more than 10 people, you have to check in with the hostess stand and not on the app.  Also, you can choose which of your traveling companions are joining you for dinner each night, in case anyone was wondering.

We all decided during the day what time to meet up and where before dinner.  Also - the check in and table info goes to everyone's hub app, so they will know which table to go to if they are a little bit late.

Hope this helps!

We had a group of 9 on the Jubilee last week. It was absolutely no problem for us (and generally we had a table for 10 with 1 seat unoccupied). BUT we put in our table request for dinner on the app usually early, around 5:30 or 6, and on both Formal nights we had specialty dining reservations.
