Ravenna-flying home right after cruise

Hello,

I've spent hours reading through all the helpful Ravenna info here, and understand that we want to fly into either Marco Polo or Bologna, and stay either in Ravenna or Venice before the cruise.  I understand the train options between those cities.  But what I cannot figure out is the logistics of getting to either airport after we disembark.  We will be a group of 6, including children, and we have to fly home the same day.  Will RC offer some sort of transportation and if so-which airport?  Or are there easy-ish options to get to the airport (and which one?)?

Really want to show the kids and grandparents Venice for the first time (and their first cruise, too) but trying to minimize the chaos.  Thank you!

As RC sells the destination as Venice, that's the airport they're going to provide transport to/from.  Note that Ravello is hours from Venice, so if you want to see Venice you'll need to fly in a day or more prior to the cruise.

this is really helpful, thank you so much!  Yep, we are arriving 2 days prior to the cruise to check it out, just need to leave the day it ends.  Appreciate the responses!

In the past, RC offered a transfer to Bologna Airport or to Ravenna train station.  Bologna is only 1 hr from Ravenna, as compared to 2 1/2 hr to Venice, so many European residents will prefer to use Bologna Airport.

Do a search on 'Bologna' and limit your search to the Italy forum and you'll find past threads about transportation.

On our RC cruise, they offered transfers to/from both Bologna and Venice airports.  In fact, when our disembarkation in Ravenna was switched to Trieste due to horrible flooding in Ravenna, they still managed to get the transfer passengers to both Bologna and Venice airports.  The transfer bus to Bologna airport left at 3:30 am to get people there in time.

They also offered other transfers to Venice city center and Ravenna rail station.
