alcpa1 Posted March 7 #1 Share Posted March 7 I was on a webinar with O this afternoon where it was announced there will be a rate increase for all sailings on April 1st.
Rare mauibabes Posted March 7 #2 Share Posted March 7 Wow, in 17 years sailing O, we have never experienced an Across the Board price increase. Usually increases are Itinerary specific. Why raise the prices on Itineraries that are not selling out? We have heard there is the usual quarterly price increase coming so we will have to see how much it turns out to be. Rare pinotlover Posted March 7 #3 Share Posted March 7 Getting us prepared for higher prices with the new April release. Don’t worry Mauibabes, the price hike on existing non selling cruises will be followed by a April Fools Day sale, then Mother’s Day Sale, then Memorial Day Sale, then etc. 5

Calendar Qtr 1 is Jan-Feb-Mar. Calendar Qtr 2 starts Apr 1. Sounds like another such increase. Often seen around Jan 1 or Jul 1, too.
Yesimapirate Posted March 7 #5 Share Posted March 7 Pretty stupid day to announce anything IMHO. What's the harm in announcing March 29th or April 2nd so some people don't get confused?
Redtravel Posted March 9 #6 Share Posted March 9 Supply and demand will adjust prices. People are not stupid. Just because the prices increase, people don’t jump to book. There is competition for vacation spending. You can find deals. Waiting closer to embarkation could save you money. Be flexible.

Not this year. Cruises are heavily booked.

Though O already ran its New Year Sale in Jan-Feb and currently has a smaller one going on now. The current one pushing about 30 cruises. So O will have sales to fill those ships on cruises in serious need of passengers.

If this was true Oceania would not be running sales continuously to fill cruises that have been released for nearly two years! Additionally that is/was sale after sale after sale to get to this point.
