Old Posts Showing up on Page 1

I just saw an old post show up on Page 1.  I went to check the date of the last post and it was Feb. 2023.  I refreshed the page and it was gone.  This is the 2nd time I have seen this happen this week.

 

 The first old post I saw on Page 1 I responded to 😁

If you reply to an old post doesn't it move to page 1?  Have seen some posts that started years ago with new replies

Sometimes the topic in a zombie thread is no longer relevant.  A newbie doing a Google search finds the old topic and doesn’t realize that they are re-opening a moot issue, like Cookiegate.  To avoid confusion the mods may delete the thread.

I am seeing old posts on page 1 that do not have a new reply.  I refresh the page and it goes away.  Not very often ...  I am not doing a search.

Yes, I saw that yesterday or the day before.  I read the thread…and when I got to the end I realized there had not been a new reply and I was puzzled as to why it was on Page 1.
