That's too funny! I was just reading that thread with all the folks arguing about prom night thinking to myself I would never go because I would not want to listen to Air Supply all night. I had not even thought about them in the last 20 years.

You first embark the ship on Tampa on Deck 7. I don't remember anything remarkable about the process other than we had to hunt for our muster station on deck 6.

 

When you disembark in ports it's on deck 4.

 

When you disembark the final time in Tampa it's on deck 7 again.

It was so great to read your review. Next time you gotta do it live! I'd love to hear your stream of cruising thoughts...but it's all well and good. Thanks for coming back to delight us in your Jade cruise. 

 

By the way, on Sunday we went out for breakfast to a local diner (we won't be returning). They served the saddest looking hash browns - barely a crisp, but gosh those just barely cooked shreds of potato were seasoned to make up for no crunch, crunch.

Thanks, my friend. But I don't think you'd want to hear my "live" thoughts (even if I somehow magically was able to access CC in a timely manner) as my thoughts would be co-mingled in a bourbon haze (my new favorite on NCL, since their beer selection on non-District ships is pathetic).

I don't drink beer anymore, unless I'm dragged to a brewery (not much dragging happing, really). But, I have perused the beer menus onboard and yep, I'll agree with your word - pathetic! I just don't really like the mass produced stuff so unless it's coming direct from a craft brewer, I'm not a fan.

 

Bourbon thoughts could be interesting! Totally get you wanting to enjoy the time onboard and not interrupting your drink to post a random thought here. We appreciate when you come back and report!

Thanks for the great review. We've only sailed the Pearl on Sixthman music charters. Looking for a ship that includes Cozumel (for the Cozumel Bar Hop) and Key West. Jade or Jewel look to be perfect. Agreed beer selection is weak but Sixthman will normally include a couple IPA's if you like it in the can. They also had PBR which I enjoy for nostalgia purposes.

 

Agreed the internet sucks. At least it did on the Pearl in February. Constantly disconnecting and when you did connect it was useless. Won't get it again. We board Pearl on Sunday for the inaugural Sixthman Chef's Making Waves cruise. It's only a 4 nighter but includes the Premium Plus Bev Pkg. Hello WhistlePig Rye!

Last year on the Prima we did one of the Cozumel Bar Hops (there's more than one) and it was just okay. Can't remember the name but we probably should have done the other one.

 

PBR is my go-to "cheap" (meaning non-craft) beer. I grew up in Milwaukee (although some say I never really grew up) and that was what my dad drank...so I developed a fondness for PBR, probably by osmosis.

i have sailed on all of the gem class most more than once....except the pearl.

NCL seams to use the Pearl mainly for charters.

Let's hope not. We're seriously looking at the Pearl for a TA next April. After our great experience on the Jade, we anticipate that the Pearl would be similar. Although it would be hard to beat the all-around great service on the Jade.

We have 2 future cruises booked on the Jade.  Looking forward to sailing on this ship.
