  1. We have 2 future cruises booked on the Jade. Looking forward to sailing on this ship.
  2. When we were in Haven on the Jewel, we also had carry-on only. Let the butler know you have carry on only. He/she will arrange to have an NCL employee assist you with your luggage. They escort you through the disembarkation and through customs. It was very smooth and expedited everything.
  3. I called the mayor’s office 3 months ago and shared my thoughts about the lack of cruise ships here. She promised to get back to me, but I never heard back.
  4. I just noticed on the NCL website that the Jade will departing from San Diego in October, 2025 from San Diego to Miami (via the Panama Canal) for a 14 night cruise. I booked this cruise. Also, the Jade will be sailing twice to the Mexican Riviera from San Diego in March/April, 2026 for 7 night cruises. I also booked one of these cruises. So happy to see NCL schedule a few cruises from my hometown of San Diego. I hope they add more and other cruise lines join the party. San Diego is a much better cruise port to depart from than Los Angeles. Much more convenient; airport is a stone's throw away and less congestion getting to the cruise port.
  5. I had booked a cruise on Spirit for June 2024. It was canceled on me. A charter company based in Taiwan has booked Spirit for private charters for the next year or so.
  6. I just booked a last minute cruise on NCL Spirit in a balcony guarantee (that was all that was available) I'm somewhat nervous about it because I don't like forward cabins. If you've booked a balcony guarantee in the past, what cabin was assigned to you? Were you happy or miserable? Would love to hear everyone's feedback because I'm sure there are a few lighthearted stories to share!
  7. Ensenada has the best shopping. Take the chartered bus to La Bufadora (The Blowhole). There are many unique vendors there as well as the 8th Wonder of the World 😜
  8. I just realized the Jewel is no longer sailing out of San Diego. I'm so bummed about this. I live here and it's so convenient to just hop on board without having to worry about flights.
  9. I applied for the credit card because there was a bonus offer of 20,000 points with approval of the card. When I logged into Barclays Bank to redeem the points for OBC, they had categories to direct my OBC to. For example, 3 day thermal suite, 5 day thermal suite, spa services etc. I thought I could just apply the points to my account as a general OBC. Norwegian does it this way.
  10. Thank you for posting this. I was able to post an additional deposit to my existing reservation. My final payment isn’t due for a few more weeks, so this was perfect timing. 😊
  11. Is it possible that Taiwan is preparing for imminent attack from China? China has been threatening to invade Taiwan for the past year or so. Could they be planning an escape for their government officials and their families if necessary? It will be interesting to monitor this situation.
  12. I just received an email from NCL. My Spirit cruise from Tahiti to Hawaii on June 5, 2024 has been canceled.   13. Can someone post the link to purchase the gift cards on the AARP website? I couldn’t find it.
  14. HAL has offered a BOGO gift card offer during their anniversary. I've been waiting for them to post this offer, but it hasn't come up yet. In the past, it was a 10% bonus gift card. For example, a $1,000 gift card purchase would yield you a $100 bonus gift card. I keep checking their website and haven't seen this offer yet. Does anyone have the inside scoop on this?
  15. HAL typically has a BOGO gift card offer for their anniversary. I'm surprised they haven't posted this offer yet. This is when I purchase them to pay for my future cruises.

  17. This charter cruise bumped me off my scheduled cruise. I was so upset with NCL for canceling our cruise for a private charter. Thousands of passengers were inconvenienced because a rich group of people overpaid for this particular week and the rest of us minions were tossed aside. Shame on NCL and especially these rich elites for allowing thousands of regular people to be booted from their cruise. I want to be clear about my comments. I’m not attacking the original poster. I’m pissed at NCL because the charter company obviously had to pay them much more than they would have received with the original passenger list.
  18. Does anyone happen to have a photo of the Future Cruise Deposit desk flyer? I was on Koningsdam in November and booked my next cruise while on board. I had to make a change to that cruise and I don’t think HAL is transferring all my OBC’s to the new booking. I want to verify the OBC’s that were offered for booking onboard. I should have taken a pic of the flyer

  20. We were on the Jewel in April. The cigar lounge is right by the piano bar area.
  21. I've called Norwegian a few times and even had some email correspondence with the VP of guest services. As of now, NCL has not rescheduled this cruise with this exact itinerary. So, I checked pricing for the cruise that's 1 week prior (Jan 15, 2023) and the same cabin I had before is now $461 more! And that's including my so-called 10% credit for my "inconvenience" that NCL offered as well as my upgrade promo because I had purchased FCC and booked my original cruise while on board the Jewel. I'm so pissed!
  22. We were booked on Prima for the Jan 22, 2023 cruise. Anyone else booked on this cruise? NCL just kicked us to the curb for a private charter. Now, I have to cancel my flight, hotel, car reservation as well as my vacation with my job. To rub salt in the wound, NCL is not offering this itinerary on Prima on any other dates. Has anyone else experienced a cruise line canceling your cruise due to a private charter? NCL canceled one cruise on me due to COVID. Understandable. So, I booked another cruise over a year later. That cruise was also canceled due to a dispute with a Mexican port, even though I cruised with Holland America the month prior and they had no issue with that Mexican port. I was so excited about Prima and this unique itinerary and then it canceled due to this private charter. I have a FCC credit that I need to use. I will book my last cruise with NCL and never cruise with them again. I emailed them yesterday. We’ll see if they respond. Worst customer service ever!!
  23. Great question! I’ve asked this many times. I have a 19 year old, but he hasn’t cruised with us in a few years. When I was on the Discovery Princess earlier this month, I noticed on the daily planner that they did have a meet and greet scheduled on the first day or two on board the ship.
