You may get a cabin in what some of us would think of as A less than desirable location?

If it's not in an area of noise like right at the Elevator's and you don't spend a great deal of time (other than sleeping) in your cabin who cares! Enjoy your Cruise.☺️

First, IMO the elevator bank area is typically a preferred location due to the convenience that the elevators and stairways provide.  The staterooms are separated by a hallway from the area and the elevators are typically set aside as well.  The staterooms are also well insulated.  We often prefer that location and have never had any noise issues in that area.

As to the GTY stateroom, you just need to decide the type of stateroom you prefer and select that GTY.  If once the stateroom is assigned you don't like the location, you can change to any other location within the assigned sub-category based on availability.  Just contact whomever you booked through and they can make those changes.  We have done that before without any issue.

I'm trying to decide between a standard balcony and a concierge guaranteed.

Thanks!

I don’t think there are any bad CC cabins. Personally, I prefer to stay away from the balcony cabins on Deck 9 because of the large overhanging deck from above which cuts off all views of the sky and sun (not true for the balcony cabins at the stern looking out over the wake). It’s perfect for those that like a balcony that is always shady. Also there is potential noise from the public deck above the Deck 9 cabins such as deck furniture being repositioned early in the morning.
