room with a view Posted April 7 #1 Share Posted April 7 Hi, We have sailed RCI , NCL ,P&O but never with Celebrity . We are looking for a SV balcony cabin as we don't like Infinite cabins. Are any of this type of cabin midships ? also are decks 9/10/11 decks (between cabin decks) a good choice. Thanks for any info.
Mauidiver Posted April 7 #2 Share Posted April 7 SV balcony cabins are only on the aft of the ships. All of the decks you mentioned are good for them. Negatives would be long walks to the cabin and the potential for motion. Positives are large traditional balconies, quiet location, and gorgeous aft wake views.
suehal Posted April 7 #3 Share Posted April 7 How exactly do you book the SV cabins? Did a mock booking and couldn't access any. What category do you book from? Aqua class etc

Aqua class etc You'll book from the veranda category. If you don't see any, they're sold out.
Kelownadon Posted April 7 #5 Share Posted April 7 If you do get one this is the view from a Sunset Veranda on the Apex. Good luck.

room with a view Posted April 7 Author #7 Share Posted April 7 Thanks, I did a mock booking for a SV and the allocated cabin was at the aft ...very similar to the photo. Fabulous views but I guess (or us) too much motion. We prefer midships ..so it's back to looking again with a different ship. . Great to have such informative replies . kabmab Posted April 7 #8 Share Posted April 7 We've been in an SV three times for a total of 4 weeks, Med and Caribbean, never had motion. On Apex and Edge.

That means at the aft of the ship. There won't be a Sunset Veranda at a forward or midship location.
Rare Sleepybluegiraffe Posted April 7 #10 Share Posted April 7 They are obviously a lot less spacious balconies but we’ve booked a deluxe porthole veranda on Apex for this summer. I did a lot of research and partly for price and partly to have a proper balcony we went with the porthole after reading and watching reviews and looking at photos online

Great view…what cabin number is this? Did you have any of the creaking banging noises that are common on Beyond?

Rare Tyler414 Posted April 7 #15 Share Posted April 7 3 minutes ago, mafig said: Which ship did you prefer? Beyond, mainly because of the added venues, world class bar, Le Voyage, mast bar, bigger/better martini bar, better sunset bar…

We were in cabin 11274 on the Mediterranean in October and there were no noises whatsoever. It was pure perfection. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
