Rare foodsvcmgr Posted April 22 #76 Share Posted April 22 Interestingly the decline in steak houses has been from the low to mid range, i.e. Ponderosa, Bonanza, up to the Outback level. Meanwhile the higher end such as Fleming’s, Morton’s, Ruth’s Chris, etc. have proliferated. None of us are right or wrong in our preferences, in general I think the cruise lines balance fairly well between classics and the au courant.

Unfortunately the steak on the cruise lines are more Sizzler than Morton's.
Rare foodsvcmgr Posted April 22 #78 Share Posted April 22 Sadly true and many times the ones served in the specialty restaurants aren’t much better either.

My expectations are tempered. This cruise is the right itinerary and precisely the right time, so that's the main reason we booked. We have HAL in the pipeline. Despite the problems (classical music being the big one for DH) HAL has still seemed better post-covid than others.

I was just waiting for a one and a two and a three to be said. No Lennon sisters? 😄

She took such good care of us when my DW and I got COVID (sequentially, not together). She was also proactive when we were having troubles with room service. I think she put the fear of God into the room service staff. After the first couple of issues, the service was prompt and over-the-top gracious. I can actually picture her as horrible embarrassed at the situation. Agreed! Kristine (standing, 2nd from the right) is one of the best!
