Aqua...Forward Facing Club Balcony suite vs Regular CBS?

Recommended Posts

Any disadvantages to the Forward Facing Club Balc. suite? The mid-ship Club Balcony are more expensive on the dates we are looking at..just wondering if anyone has done both and have any thoughts one way or the other?

We did FWD-facing CBS on the Prima.  NYC to Bermuda.  We were very disappointed in our cabin choice.  The balcony is way too windy, and the bottom is metal so in order to see anything you need to stand up.  We will likely never do a FWD facing again on any ship…just don’t want to take a chance.

While we love forward facing suites on NCL small ships (we always book them), the forward facing CBS on the Prima was a let down. It's is a little, narrow walkway (not balcony). The hull balcony is similar to NCL small ships, but rather than sweeping the wind up and over you, it just amplifies the wind hitting you from the front and back.

We really could not find a good way to enjoy the balcony anytime the ship is underway. The suite next to us at least had a plexiglass wind break.

Note that the interior of the room is different on different floors based on the ship's structure. So, if you have looked at YouTube videos of this room, ours was different than those. I think that we lost some sq footage based on the room configuration.

We loved our CBS on Prima.  These cabins are the last four or five at the Aft and seem to have extra floor space due to the curvature of the ship's structure for that area.

The balcony was decent sized with two comfy chairs and an interesting view.  It is a decent walk to the elevators, but we needed the walk for exercise😎
