Contrary to other reports, the gift shop stocks a small amount of sundries. For this particular itinerary, the shops close on Tuesday night and do not reopen until Friday afternoon.

Join The Bird, *live*, from the beautiful Norwegian Joy on a Mother’s Day cruise to Bermuda. The Joy started her Bermuda season in April and will continue sailing to Bermuda weekly through mid-October (She takes a break during September to make two fall foliage cruises to Quebec.)

The Joy just completed a major dry dock in mid-February. This major update follows a $50M renovation in 2019 when the ship was “Americanized” after leaving Asia. 24 cabins were “re-installed” replacing part of the Observation Lounge. A Thermal Suite was added to the Mandara Spa (something originally not planned for the Asian market) replacing the Galaxy Virtual Reality Pavilion. And the Vibe Beach Club was expanded, using space from the old Laser Tag area.

The Plan

Sun New York depart 6:00 pm

Mon At Sea

Tue At Sea

Wed Bermuda arrive 8:00 am

Thu Bermuda

Fri Bermuda depart 3:00 pm

Sat At Sea

Sun New York arrive 7:00 am

OMG!!! Appreciate this so much.  Looking forward to all the FREESTYLE DAILIES....so we can plan our trip too.

The newest game at sea is Wheel of Fortune. Like Deal or No Deal, you need to buy a game card to be put in the running for a chance to spin the big wheel.

No internet package required. Just connect to the ship’s Wi-Fi and scan the QR code.

If you are not one of the lucky 3 to get called to the stage, your game card still automatically plays along.

There are 4 rounds. For each round, your game card(s) are assigned random wheel wedges and letters (2 consonants and a vowel). Any time those appear on stage, your app automatically gives you points. Top audience participant gets a $500 gift card for the shops. Places 2 and 3 get a tote bag and photo package. Places 4-10 get a tote bag.

The app also allows you to solve the puzzle. Fasted solver each round gets a prize.

Last night’s on-stage winner was Brian from Philly who won $1100.

It’s time to play Wheel of Fortune.

Thank you for posting all this awesome information.  We leave Sunday on the Joy and this is so helpful for planning our week ahead.  Do you happen to have Vibe passes?  We have passes for the vibe and are interested in seeing pictures from the Vibe.

The public ferries run from just off the dock to Hamilton and St George. $5 each way ($4.50 if you buy a token in advance).

Tonight is the Harbour Nights street fair in Hamilton, so there are late hours for the ferry to get you there and back.

Sorry. We don’t have Vibe passes.

In general, The Birds don’t participate or endorse the Vibe especially with larger and larger portions of the public spacing being taken up as a money making activity by NCL.

For this particular cruise, it was in the 50’s and raining with windchills in the low 40’s when leaving NY. Today, in port, it is in the high 60’s. Tomorrow and Friday it is forecast to rain. So, for this cruise, the utility of the Vibe is diminished.

When she was first built, this space was a zen garden. During her “Americanization” a small pool was installed.

Reminder: the saving of loungers is strictly prohibited. The anti-chair hog admonishment appear to work.

On Friday night, there will be free wings, beer and dancing at Q. BTW: this is some of your Daily Service Charge hard at work. A few weeks ago, an electronics raffle gave away some iPhone 15 pros, Sansung S23 Ultras, android tablets, MacBook Pro, and other electronics.

Thank you! DH and I are enjoying your detailed trip report. We board her on the July 21st sailing. This will be our 4th Bermuda sailing (we LOVE this island). We’ve previously sailed on the Westward, Dawn and Breakaway, so we’re familiar with the Breakaway class (the Breakaway plus class seems almost identical, at least on paper). Being a frequent Disney World guest, I’m used to planning our trips and your report makes it easier for me to do so on the Joy. Spending the time planning now helps us make the most of our time, and takes the anxiety out of deciding what we want to do/eat, especially with all the options we’re given. Thank you for  including the dailies and  main dining room menu rotation as well as the public transportation schedules, etc while in port.
